Tech Optimist is a one-principal operating firm. Jorge takes a real operating seat inside a company and ships. Founding Engineer (Full Stack SWE)
Build the software for hard-tech companies that will define the future of the physical world. End-to-end engineering.
What you will build

How we work
You work directly with Jorge and with our clients. Jorge is a systems architect who connects what is happening in the business today to the long-term vision, and turns that into the project strategy.
You do more than write software. You partner with companies to take them to the next phase of growth. You meet the clients, work on site, in the trenches, building at full speed. You build at the same speed and intensity found inside an Elon Musk company.
We move at full speed. While you are in a meeting, your brain is processing the previous one, and your agents are opening pull requests and verifying each other.
Who we are looking for
- An engineer who has adopted the new way and wants to build something bigger than their own code.
- A true full-stack engineer: frontend, backend, data, and deployment. You own what you put into production, even when it breaks at 3 a.m.
- You write software that someone else can read, test, and extend two years from now.
- You have built more this year than most do in three, and a good portion of it with AI.
- You live on the bleeding edge. What was released last night is running on your machine by morning.
- You have good taste. You know the best feature is often the one you delete.
- You sit down with the people who will use what you build, show them something that already works, and leave with the next version they have requested.
- You know how to explain things. You let others understand why you did what you did, and you listen when they challenge you.
- Fluent English. Based in Uruguay, with occasional travel to Europe and the USA.
Freelance, in dollars, at a competitive remote market rate. You work for clients in the US and Europe, with the Uruguay time zone as an advantage. We start with a paid two-week trial on a real project. After that, it stops being a contract and becomes a team.
